DTN Early Word Grains 04/10 05:56 Mixed Markets Monday Morning May corn was unchanged, May soybeans were 4 cents higher, and July Kansas City (HRW) wheat was 2 cents lower. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: May corn was unchanged, May soybeans were 4 cents higher, and July Kansas City (HRW) wheat was 2 cents lower. CME Globex Recap: Markets were mixed Monday morning with soybeans and bean meal higher while bean meal, corn, and wheat were all unchanged to lower. Outside markets saw energies mostly higher, except for natural gas, while metals were posting losses. The U.S. dollar index was up and DJIA futures during an overnight session devoid of much market moving news. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 6.85 points lower at 20,656.10. The NASDAQ Composite lost 1.14 points to 5,877.81 and the S&P 500 dipped 1.95 points to 2,355.54 Friday. DJIA futures were 15 points lower early Monday morning. Asian markets closed mostly lower with Japan's Nikkei up 133.25 points (0.7%), Hong Kong's Hang Seng down 5.12 points, and China's Shanghai Composite down 17.22 points (0.5%). European markets were trading mostly lower Monday with London's FTSE 100 off 10.15 points (0.1%), Germany's DAX losing 41.26 points (0.3%), and France's CAC 40 down 35.55 points (0.7%). The euro was 0.0012 lower at 1.0577 while the U.S. dollar index gained 0.11 to 101.24. June 30-year T-Bonds were 3/32 lower at 151'13 while June gold fell $2.80 to $1,254.50. Crude oil was $0.33 higher at $52.57 while Brent crude added $0.41 to $55.65. China's Dalian soybean futures were higher while Malaysian palm oil futures were lower overnight.
