Last week's business took place on Wednesday and Thursday with only a little scattered trade reported on Friday. Northern dressed deals had a full range of 165.00-173.00, mostly 172.00, the weighted average in Nebraska for the previous week was 175.25. Southern live deals ranged from 106.00-107.00, mostly 107.00, the prior week's weighted average in those areas was around 110.00. This week's trade will probably be postponed until Wednesday or later. Beef cutouts are expected to be lower with generally light box movement. For the week ending August 19, 2017, Imported Beef Passed for Entry in the U.S. totaled 39,906, 100.03% of the previous week and 98.47% of the prior 4-week average.
