Grain Export Inspections Mixed

OMAHA (DTN) -- Corn export inspections were bearish, soybean inspections were bullish and wheat inspection numbers were neutral, according to DTN Analyst Todd Hultman.
Corn weekly export inspections were 29.1 mb (738,779 mt) for the week ending Thursday, Sep. 21. This is below 53.4 mb for the same week a year ago. Inspections for 2017-18 totaled 82.8 million bushels, down 51% from the previous year and below USDA's projected 19% demand decrease. Monday's inspection report for 2017-18 was bearish for corn, Hultman said.
Soybean weekly export inspections were 37.8 mb (1,030,051 mt) for the week ending Sep. 21. This is above 14.2 mb for the same week a year ago. Inspections for 2017-18 totaled 112.7 million bushels, up 33% from the previous year and well above the USDA's projected 4% gain in exports. Monday's inspections were bullish for soybeans, Hultman said.
Wheat weekly export inspections were 18.4 mb (499,995 mt) for the week ending Sep. 21. This week's inspections were below 53.4 mb for the same week a year ago. Marketing year inspections for 2017-18 total 339 mb, down 3% from a year ago and are still above USDA's projected 8% decline. Monday's inspections were neutral for wheat, Hultman said.
