Export Inspections Mixed

OMAHA (DTN) -- Corn export inspections were neutral to bearish, soybean inspections were neutral to bullish and wheat inspection numbers were neutral, according to DTN Senior Analyst Darin Newsom.

Corn weekly export inspections were 30.8 million bushels (782,346 metric tons) for the week ending Thursday, Sept. 28. The weekly number was below last year's (for the same week) 58.5 mb (1,485,276 mt). Marketing-year total inspections of 115.3 mb are 49% behind last year's total of 227.3 mb. The weekly number and overall pace could be considered neutral to bearish given how early it is in the 2017-2018 marketing year, Newsom said.

Soybean weekly export inspections were 32.9 mb (894,250 mt) for the week ending Thursday, Sept. 28. The weekly number was below last year's (for the same week) 40.8 mb (1,110,050 mt). Marketing-year total inspections of 145.9 mb are 16% ahead of last year's 125.3 mb. The weekly number and overall pace could be considered neutral to bullish given how early it is in the 2017-2018 marketing year, Newsom said.

Wheat weekly export inspections were 25.4 mb (691,971 mt) for the week ending Thursday, Sept. 28. The weekly number was above last year's (for the same week) 24.4 mb (662,676 mt). Marketing-year total inspections of 364.5 mb are 2% behind last year's 372.6 mb. The weekly number and overall pace could be considered neutral.
