DTN Early Word Grains 09/06 07:41 Mixed, Quiet Changes in The Grain Room December corn was down 1/4, November soybeans were up 1, and December K.C. wheat was down 2 1/2. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was down 1/4, November soybeans were up 1, and December K.C. wheat was down 2 1/2. CME Globex Recap: Mixed equity markets around the globe this morning but quieter on the emerging market front after the heavy early week losses. Grains continue to see low-volume, mixed trade ahead of the next WASDE update on the 12th. Former Hurricane Gordon should limit early harvest progress in the Gulf and Mid-South, keeping hedge pressure subdued. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 22.51 points at 25,974.99 and the S&P 500 down 8.12 points at 2,888.60 while the 10-year Treasury yield ended at 2.897%. Early Thursday, DJIA futures were up 2.25. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 92.89 (-0.41%) and China's Shanghai Composite down 12.74 (-0.99%). European markets are higher with London's FTSE 100 up 3.08 points (0.03%), Germany's DAX up 18.55 points (0.15%), and France's CAC 40 up 13.25 points (0.25%). The euro was unchanged at 1.16335 and the U.S. dollar index was up 0.0220 at 95.1260. September 30-year T-Bonds were up 5/32nds while December gold was up $7.40 at $1208.70 and October crude oil was up $0.15 at $68.87. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange closed down 0.71% while meal was down 0.61%.
