DTN Early Word Grains 10/04 05:56 Mixed Markets as Traders Eye Harvest Delays December corn was up 1 cent, November soybeans were down a 1/2 cent and December K.C. wheat was up 2 1/2 cents. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was up 1 cent, November soybeans were down a 1/2 cent and December K.C. wheat was up 2 1/2 cents. CME Globex Recap: Weaker equity markets Thursday following Wednesday's surge on U.S. economic optimism. The rally drove treasuries sharply lower with the 10-year T-note hitting the lowest level since 2011. Energy prices are weaker after the rally as Saudi Arabia seems comfortable increasing oil output. Easier grain prices with export sales on Thursday is helping to set the tone. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 54.45 points at 26,828.39 and the S&P 500 up 2.08 points at 2,925.51 while the 10-year Treasury yield ended at 3.183%. Early Thursday, DJIA futures were down 117.00. Asian markets were lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 135.34 points (-0.56%). European markets are lower with London's FTSE 100 down 63.84 points (-0.85%), Germany's DAX down 46.25 points (-0.38%), and France's CAC 40 down 48.06 points (-0.88%). The euro was down 0.00255 at 1.15020 and the U.S. dollar index was down 0.0890 at 95.9040. September 30-year T-Bonds were down 0.74% while December gold was up $0.50 at $1203.40 and November crude oil was down $0.13 at $76.28. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange are closed for holiday.
