DTN Early Word Grains 10/05 05:52 Higher Prices to Close a Higher Week December corn was up 1/4 cent, November soybeans were up 1 cent and December K.C. wheat was up 3 cents. Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was up 1/4 cent, November soybeans were up 1 cent and December K.C. wheat was up 3 cents. CME Globex Recap: Equity markets are weaker around the globe following the dramatic debt sell-off on Thursday. Friday's unemployment situation report is expected to set the tone to close the first week in October. Crude oil saw its largest single day loss Thursday in nearly two months following the more than $10.00/barrel rally from August lows. Grains are trying to close things on a positive note as the entire trade frets about harvest weather. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 200.91 points at 26,627.48 and the S&P 500 down 23.90 points at 2,901.61 while the 10-year Treasury yield ended at 3.197%. Early Friday, DJIA futures were down 24.00. Asian markets were lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 191.90 points (-0.80%). European markets are lower with London's FTSE 100 down 48.66 points (-0.66%), Germany's DAX down 87.66 points (-0.72%), and France's CAC 40 down 25.38 points (-0.47%). The euro was down 0.00250 at 1.14970 and the U.S. dollar index was up 0.0910 at 95.8540. September 30-year T-bonds were down 3/32nds while December gold was up $1.70 at $1203.30 and November crude oil was up $0.39 at $74.72. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange are closed for holiday.
