CME Globex Recap: Global equity markets are quiet Tuesday morning after the Monday volatility, although investors remain cautious given the continued selloff in U.S. government debt. The 10-year treasury yield closed at a fresh seven-year high Monday, keeping inflation fears alive and well. Grains are mostly weaker Tuesday morning but still in recent ranges as farmers sit amid the Midwest rain and traders wait for Thursday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 39.73 points at 26,486.78 and the S&P 500 down 1.14 points at 2,884.43, while the 10-year Treasury yield ended at 3.239%. Early Tuesday, DJIA futures were down 110.00. Asian markets were mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 314.33 points (-1.32%) and China's Shanghai Composite was up 4.50 points (0.17%). European markets are mixed with London's FTSE 100 up 0.52 points (0.01%), Germany's DAX down 19.00 points (-0.16%), and France's CAC 40 down 0.70 points (-0.01%). The euro was down 0.00155 at 1.14795 and the U.S. dollar index was up 0.1930 at 95.9440. September 30-year T-Bonds were down 10/32nds, while December gold was up $2.60 at $1191.20 and November crude oil was up $0.62 at $74.91. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange closed up 0.91% and soymeal closed up 2.01%.
