DTN Early Word Grains 10/25 05:42 Weaker Grains Amid Advancing Harvest, Soft Financial Markets December corn was down 1 1/2, November soybeans were down 3/4, and December KC wheat was down 3 1/4. CME Globex Recap: Equity markets are stabilizing this morning in the US and Europe after a horrendous session yesterday. Wednesday's performance was the worst for the NASDAQ Composite since August 2011, while the S&P 500 closed lower for the sixth consecutive session. More signs of a slowing global economy seem to surface each day. Grains have largely been spared from the financial market volatility but continue weaker regardless as harvest progresses unabated. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 608.01 points at 24,583.42, the S&P 500 down 84.59 points at 2,656.10, while the 10-year Treasury yield ended at 3.104%. Early Thursday, DJIA futures are up 221.00. Asian markets were mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 822.45 points (-3.72%) and China's Shanghai Composite was up 0.50 points (0.02%). European markets are mixed with London's FTSE 100 down 10.26 points (-0.16%), Germany's DAX up 33.10 points (0.30%), and France's CAC 40 up 50.33 points (1.02%). The euro was up 0.00190 at 1.14300 and the U.S. dollar index was down 0.0830 at 96.2790. September 30-year T-Bonds were down 3/32nds while December gold was up $3.60 at $1234.70 and November crude oil was up 0.01 at $66.83. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange closed up 0.30% and soymeal closed up 0.03%.
