DTN Early Word Grains 11/02 05:46 Sharp Gains Overnight on Trade Talk Optimism December corn was up 2 1/2 cents, November soybeans were up 16 cents, and December KC wheat was up 1 1/2 cents. CME Globex Recap: Sharply better equities around the globe overnight as trade-talk fever is ramping up. The market will want confirmation soon there are concrete steps being made as opposed to just late-night tweets from the President. Energy markets continue to trade weakly with fresh 7-month lows Thursday. Grains are higher overnight on ideas the President wants a trade deal with China by the G20 Summit at the end of the month. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 264.98 points at 25,380.74 and the S&P 500 up 28.63 points at 2,740.37 while the 10-year Treasury yield ended at 3.142%. Early Friday, DJIA futures are up 205.00 points. Asian markets were mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 556.01 points (2.56%) and China's Shanghai Composite was up 70.24 points (2.70%). European markets are higher with London's FTSE 100 up 52.06 points (0.73%), Germany's DAX up 148.25 points (1.29%), and France's CAC 40 up 67.54 points (1.33%). The euro was up $0.00310 at $1.14535 and the U.S. dollar index was down 0.2240 at 96.0730. September 30-year T-Bonds were down 9/32nds while December gold was down $1.40 at $1237.20 and December crude oil was down 0.05 cents at $63.64. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange closed down 2.31% and soymeal closed down 3.55%.
