DTN Early Word Grains 11/06 05:50 Grains Mixed With Spot Light on Midterms, Awaiting WASDE December corn was down 1/4 cent, November soybeans were up 1/2 cent, and December KC wheat was up 3 3/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: The global equity markets are mixed to weaker with the focus in the United States solely on the midterm elections. One can make an argument for market direction regardless of who wins Tuesday, so I will leave that tail-pinning to others. Crude oil is trying to close lower for a seventh straight day. Grains are mixed to firmer, eyeing the WASDE on Thursday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 190.87 points at 25,461.70 and the S&P 500 up 15.25 points at 2,738.31 while the 10-year Treasury yield ended at 3.205%. Early Tuesday, the Dow futures are down 49.00. Asian markets were mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 248.76 points (1.14%) and China's Shanghai Composite was down 6.07 points (0.23%). European markets are lower with London's FTSE 100 down 19.47 points (0.28%), Germany's DAX down 37.25 points (0.32%), and France's CAC 40 down 21.04 points (0.41%). The euro was down 0.00210 at 1.14100 and the U.S. dollar index was up 0.1020 at 96.4210. September 30-year T-Bonds were up 3/32nds while December gold was up $3.60 at $1,235.90 and December crude oil was down $0.21 at $62.89. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange closed up 0.20% and soymeal closed up 1.70%.
