DTN Early Word Grains 11/21 05:53 Grains Quiet, Mixed Ahead of Thanksgiving Break December corn was up 1/2 cent, November soybeans were down 3 cents, and December KC wheat was unchanged. CME Globex Recap: The equity rout continued Tuesday around the globe but looks to stabilize heading into the Thanksgiving holiday. Suddenly, the U.S. equity picture is turning just as sour as the Chinese one. That could play an interesting role in the trade talks between the two countries. Grains are quietly mixed before the break with holiday mode setting in hard after Thursday. Regular close today with markets reopening Friday morning for a shortened session. Happy Thanksgiving! OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 551.80 points at 24,465.64 and the S&P 500 down 48.84 points at 2,641.89 while the 10-year Treasury yield ended at 3.072%. Early Wednesday, DJIA futures are up 88.00 points. Asian markets were mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 75.58 points (-0.35%) and China's Shanghai Composite was up 5.65 points (0.21%). European markets are higher with London's FTSE 100 up 46.14 points (0.66%), Germany's DAX up 73.58 points (0.66%), and France's CAC 40 up 23.77 points (0.48%). The euro was up $0.00185 at $1.14085 and the U.S. dollar index was down 0.0550 at 96.7650. September 30-year T-Bonds were down 13/32nds while December gold was up $3.50 at $1224.40 and December crude oil was up $1.03 at $54.46. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange closed up 0.47% and soymeal closed up 0.96%.
