Trade activity remains light at current price levels, though west coast exporters show an interest in nearby ownership of white wheat; bid structures are flat into the next 60 days. Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed a marked improvement for U.S. wheat loadings last week, registering the best week of shipments for the marketing year. A total of 18.7 mb was loaded off all ports, which puts year-to-date shipments at 360 mb and 18% behind a year ago. Hard red spring was top shipper with 8 mb, followed by hard red winter with 5.9 mb and soft white at 3.2 mb. Top west coast destinations were Japan with 3.6 mb, Bangladesh and the Philippines with 2.1 mb each, and Indonesia taking 1.9 mb for the week. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2018 DTN/Telvent.
