Dark northern spring basis also added a nickel. Cash bids all settled higher for the week, most notably hard red winter. Weekly Sales...USDA reported a slight improvement in export demand for U.S. wheat, but the 13.9 mb weekly total came in 24% behind the four-week average. Year-to-date export commitments now stand at 547 mb; 12% behind a year ago and 16% behind the five-year average pace. Top seller for the week was hard red winter at 5.5 mb, putting sales at 158 mb and 36% below a year ago. Hard red spring booked another 5 mb and with 177 mb is running 4% ahead of a year ago and 2% behind average. Soft white registered 3 mb, putting sales at 132 mb; 7% behind last year but 16% ahead of average. Top Buyers...Peru was the top buyer for the week with a 2.9 mb purchase of hard red spring.
