DTN Early Word Grains 12/28 05:58 Relief Bounce in Grains to Close Lower Week March corn is up 2 cents, January soybeans are up 3 3/4 cents, and March KC wheat is up 2 cents. CME Globex Recap: Recap: Global equities are higher overnight as traders seem anxious to put this roller-coaster week behind them. The government shutdown and border wall funding remain contentious issues that are likely to persist into 2019. Energy markets continue to bounce off recent lows while the Bloomberg Commodity Index has made fresh 20-month lows each day this week. Ag markets will close the week firmer, but it is difficult to get excited until better volume comes back next week, and the trade has firm demand data to work from. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 260.37 at 23,138.82 and the S&P 500 up 21.13 at 2,488.83 while the 10-yr Treasury yield ended at 2.773%. Early Friday, DJIA futures are up 119.00. Asian markets were mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 62.85 points (-0.31%) and China's Shanghai Composite was up 10.81 points (0.44%). European markets are higher with London's FTSE 100 up 113.86 points (1.73%), Germany's DAX up 183.48 points (1.81%), and France's CAC 40 up 79.77 points (1.73%). The euro was up 0.00010 at 1.14645 and the U.S. dollar index was down 0.2170 at 96.3520. December 30-year T-Bonds were down 6/32nds while February gold was down $1.20 at $1279.80 and February crude oil was up $1.34 at $45.98. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange closed down 0.03% and soymeal closed down 0.98%.
