White wheat markets did see basis levels strengthen about a dime over the past week, reflecting export interest, while dark northern spring wheat basis weakened a nickel. Price Performance...A look at average wheat prices from a marketing year standpoint shows Portland white wheat trading higher for the third straight year. Since June 1 of this year soft white has averaged $6.11 per bushel, up 12% from the 2017 marketing year average. Hard red winter is also up, averaging $6.43 year-to-date which is 8% better than 2017.
