DTN Early Word Grains 01/04 06:05 Grains Higher Across the Board to Close a Higher Week March corn is up 3/4 cents, March soybeans are up 3 1/2 cents, and March KC Wheat is up 3 3/4 cents. By Tregg Cronin DTN Contributing Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: March corn is up 3/4 cents, March soybeans are up 3 1/2 cents, and March KC Wheat is up 3 3/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: Global equities are sharply higher around the globe Friday on optimism about trade talks next week as well as news the People's Bank of China would reduce reserve requirements to boost lending. Crude oil has recovered nearly $6 per barrel off its lows, helping overall commodity sentiment. Grains are all higher Friday, working on higher weekly closes for the first time in a month as export chatter lends support. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes on Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 660.02 at 22,686.22 and the S&P 500 down 62.14 at 2,447.89 while the 10-yr Treasury yield ended at 2.579%. Early Friday, DJIA futures are up 311.00 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 452.81 (-2.26%) and China's Shanghai Composite up 50.51 points (2.05%). European markets are higher with London's FTSE 100 up 82.06 points (1.23%), Germany's DAX up 169.58 points (1.63%), and France's CAC 40 up 56.82 points (1.23%). The euro was up 0.00110 at 1.14110 and the U.S. dollar index was down 0.1070 at 96.1650. December 30-year T-Bonds were down 27/32nds while February gold was down $1.40 at $1293.30 and February crude oil was up $1.08 at $48.16. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange closed up 0.06% while soymeal closed up 1.24%.
