DTN CATTLE PRICES/TRENDS 11/21 08:05 HEAD SOLD LIVE STEERS DRESSED LIVE HEIFERS DRESSED KANSAS . . . . . NEBRASKA . . . . . TEXAS . . . . . COLORADO . . . . . IOWA . . . . . *PRIVATE SOURCES DTN COMMENTS: The country is slow to start this morning, following yesterday's light to moderate Southern live trade at $115 to $116.50, mostly $116, $1 higher than last week's weighed averages. A light dressed trade was also reported in parts of the North at $180 to $184, mostly $184, $2 higher than last week's weighed average basis, Nebraska. (Note that the majority of the $184 in Nebraska was done by one major). Having said that we will need to see more trade in the North at some point today and/or tomorrow. Asking prices for cattle left on showlists are around $117 to $118 in the South, and $185 to $188 in the North. Beef cutouts are expected to be lower, with light to moderate box movement.
