DTN Closing Grain Comments 05/24 13:59 Spring Wheat, Rain Lead Grains Lower Monday July Minneapolis wheat closed down 15 3/4 cents Monday, the largest percentage loss in the grain sector, after spring wheat areas received beneficial precipitation over the weekend. Old-crop contracts of corn and soybeans posted small losses with wide rain coverage expected across the central U.S. this week. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: July corn closed down 2 1/4 cents and December corn was down 6 1/4 cents. July soybeans closed down 3 1/2 cents and November soybeans were up 1 3/4 cents. July KC wheat closed down 8 3/4 cents, July Chicago wheat was down 12 cents and July Minneapolis wheat was down 15 3/4 cents. The June U.S. Dollar Index is trading down 0.19 at 89.82. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 256.14 points at 34,463.98. August gold is up $7.70 at $1,884.40, July silver is up $0.41 at $27.90 and July copper is up $0.0510. July crude oil is up $2.33 at $65.91, July heating oil is up $0.0532, July RBOB gasoline is up $0.0493 and July natural gas is down $0.022.
