DTN Closing Livestock Comment 05/10 15:56 Weak Futures Complex Keeps Livestock Contracts Depressed Heading into Wednesday's market, feedlots will expect to see more interest from packers, although the week's trend is likely set. ShayLe Stewart DTN Livestock Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: It was a second-rate day for the livestock complex as the futures market didn't support the idea of higher trade and the cash cattle market saw cattle sell at steady money again this week. Meanwhile, the cash hog market continues to see aggressive interest from packers as limited availability of market-ready hogs keeps them active in the cash market. Hog prices closed higher on the Daily Direct Afternoon Hog Report, up $2.27 with a weighted average of $109.10 on 11,050 head. July corn is up 3 1/4 cents per bushel and July soybean meal is down $1.30. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 84.96 points.
