CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Thursday, U.S. stocks on the Dow Jones Industrials are trading lower, extending Wednesday's sharp sell-off with European and most Asian stocks also trading lower. Concerns about rising interest rates and rising prices cutting into profits were the main themes of bearish concern after Walmart and Target reported disappointing earnings. Later Thursday morning, traders will check USDA's weekly export sales report. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 1,164.52 at 31,490.07 and the S&P 500 down 165.17 at 3,923.68 as the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 2.89%, down from the highest level in three and a half years. Early Thursday, June Dow Jones futures are trading down 405 points. Asian markets are mostly lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 1.89% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.36%. European markets are lower with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 2.00%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 2.02% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 1.99%. The June euro is up $0.0020 at $1.0505. The June U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.27 at 103.60. The June 30-year T-bond is up 23/32nds, while June gold is up $4.70 at $1,820.60 and June crude oil is down $1.12 at $108.47. On China's Dalian exchange, September corn was down 0.3%, July soybeans were down 0.6%, September soybean meal was down 0.3% and September soybean oil was down 0.6%. June Malaysian palm oil is trading down 1.9%.
