New showlists appear to be mixed higher in Nebraska/Colorado, but lower in Kansas and Texas. Today's slaughter totaled 125,000 head, 1,000 more than last week, and 6,000 greater than a year ago. Cattle futures closed mostly modestly to moderately higher on live contracts up 10 to 90, while feeder issues ended the day mostly sharply higher, up 65 to 220. Beef cutouts are expected to close higher with light to moderate box movement.
