DTN Closing Livestock Comment 09/02 16:08 Cattle Pull Ahead Before Friday's End Even though the week dragged on and there wasn't much excitement in the cash markets, the cattle contracts proved that they still are interested in trading higher. ShayLe Stewart DTN Livestock Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: Both the live cattle and feeder cattle contracts closed on a higher note while the lean hog complex remained pressured through closing Friday. Hog prices closed lower on the Daily Direct Afternoon Hog Report, down $2.07 with a weighted average of $97.68 on 3,380 head. December corn is up 7 3/4 cents per bushel and December soybean meal is up $2.40. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 337.98 points.
