DTN Early Word Grains 09/30 05:50 Crop Prices Starting Higher Ahead of Friday's USDA Reports December corn was up 4 cents, November soybeans were up 6 cents and December KC wheat was up 1 cent. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn was up 4 cents, November soybeans were up 6 cents and December KC wheat was up 1 cent. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Friday, stock futures in the U.S. were starting higher, along with higher stock prices in Europe. In the U.K., the Office for National Statistics reported 0.2% growth in second-quarter GDP, up 4.4% on the year. Unemployment in the Eurozone was unchanged in August at 6.6%. November crude oil is trading modestly higher after one index of manufacturing in China showed slight expansion in September and one showed contraction. At 11 a.m., USDA will release its quarterly Grain Stocks report and Small Grains 2022 Summary. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Thursday had the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 458.13 at 29,225.61 and the S&P 500 down 78.57 at 3,640.47, while the 10-Year Treasury yield increased to 3.75%, down from the highest yield in 12 years. Early Friday, December Dow Jones futures are trading up 210 points. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 1.83% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.55%. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.86%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 1.32% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 1.14%. The December euro is up $0.0043 at $.9889. The December U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.57 at 111.64. The December 30-year T-bond is up 16/32nds, while December gold is up $11.70 at $1,680.30 and November crude oil is up $1.07 at $82.30. Quotes on China's Dalian exchange were not available with a national holiday set for October 1 through 7. December Malaysian palm oil is trading up 2.6%.
