Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn was up 8 cents, November soybeans were up 25 cents and December KC wheat was up 32 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Monday, stock futures in the U.S. were starting lower in line with Europe, still pressured by the anticipation of higher interest rates ahead after Friday's report showed decent job growth in September. Third quarter earnings reports start this week with widespread concerns about how higher interest rates are affecting the economy. Here on Monday, federal offices and banks are closed for Columbus Day. The U.S. Labor Department will report on producer prices Wednesday, but most markets are open. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 630.15 at 29,296.79 and the S&P 500 down 104.86 at 3,639.66, while the 10-Year Treasury yield increased to 3.88%, near the highest yield in 12 years. Early Friday, December Dow Jones futures are trading down 24 points. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 0.71% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 1.66%. European markets are lower with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 0.85%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.26% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 0.93%. The December euro is down $0.0052 at $.9734. The December U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.48 at 113.16. The December 30-year T-bond is down 3/32nds, while December gold is down $22.10 at $1,687.20 and November crude oil is down $0.57 at $92.07. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was up 0.4%, November soybeans were up 2.6%, January soybean meal was up 0.2% and January soybean oil was up 3.3%. The quote for December Malaysian palm oil is not available due to a holiday early Monday.
