Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn was down 4 cents, January soybeans were down 13 cents and December KC wheat was down 6 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Monday, stock futures in the U.S. were starting lower, while stocks in Europe and Japan were mostly higher. China's Shanghai Composite was trading lower, even though the Wall Street Journal reported Chinese government officials warned traders not to make Xi Jinping look bad after he emerged from weekend meetings as the undisputed leader of China. According to CNBC.com, this week's earnings reports will include Apple, Amazon, Microsoft and Alphabet (Google). Sunday was a day of extremely hostile weather in the western Plains and USDA's weekly report of export inspections is due out at 10 a.m. CDT. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 748.97 at 31,082.56 and the S&P 500 up 86.97 at 3,752.75, while the 10-Year Treasury yield eased to 4.21%, near the highest yield since 2008. Early Monday, December Dow Jones futures are trading down 113 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.31% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 2.02%. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 0.48%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.67% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.52%. The December euro is down $0.0015 at $.9872. The December U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.27 at 112.25. The December 30-year T-bond is up 1/32nd, while December gold is down $4.10 at $1,652.20 and December crude oil is down $1.76 at $83.29. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was up 0.4%, November soybeans were down 0.8%, January soybean meal was down 0.3% and January soybean oil was up 0.0%. December Malaysian palm oil is trading down 2.1%.
