DTN Early Word Grains 10/26 05:47 Crop Prices Modestly Higher, U.S. Dollar Lower Early Wednesday December corn was up 2 cents, January soybeans were up 8 cents and December KC wheat was up 3 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn was up 2 cents, January soybeans were up 8 cents and December KC wheat was up 3 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Wednesday, stock futures in the U.S. were a little lower, in spite of mixed to higher trading in Europe and Japan. China's yuan saw a sharp increase overnight, after Chinese state banks reportedly sold U.S. dollars. According to CNBC.com, Wednesday's earnings reports include Meta (Facebook) and Kraft Heinz. U.S. new homes sales in September is due out at 9 a.m. CDT and traders will be watching for the Energy Department's weekly inventory report, including ethanol production at 9:30 a.m. The Bank of Canada is expected to raise its interest rate Wednesday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 337.12 at 31,836.74 and the S&P 500 up 61.77 at 3,859.11, while the 10-Year Treasury yield eased to 4.11%, still near the highest yield since 2008. Early Wednesday, December Dow Jones futures are trading down 59 points. Asian markets are higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.67% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.78%. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 0.36%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.66% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.29%. The December euro is up $0.0078 at $1.0078. The December U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.92 at 109.92. The December 30-year T-bond is up 28/32nds, while December gold is up $19.60 at $1,677.60 and December crude oil is up $0.46 at $85.78. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was up 0.2%, November soybeans were up 0.3%, January soybean meal was up 1.0% and January soybean oil was up 0.1%. December Malaysian palm oil is trading up 0.5%.
