DTN Early Word Grains 10/28 05:47 Crop Prices Lower Early, Part of Friday's Risk-Off Selling December corn was down 3 cents, January soybeans were down 6 cents and December KC wheat was down 11 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY GLOBEX PRICES: December corn was down 3 cents, January soybeans were down 6 cents and December KC wheat was down 11 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Friday, stock futures in the U.S. were trading lower, in line with lower prices in Europe and Japan and also responding to disappointing earnings reports from Apple and Amazon. The one bullish surprise was a positive third-quarter GDP report from Germany overnight. Friday's earnings include Chevron, Exxon Mobil and Colgate Palmolive, CNBC.com reported. At 7:30 a.m. CDT, the Labor Department will release its third quarter employment cost index and Commerce will release its September reports of U.S. personal incomes and consumer spending. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 194.17 at 32,033.28 and the S&P 500 down 23.30 at 3,807.30, while the 10-Year Treasury yield eased to 3.94%, down from the highest yield since 2008. Early Friday, December Dow Jones futures are trading down 49 points. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 0.88% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 2.21%. European markets are lower with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 0.60%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.88% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 0.45%. The December euro is down $0.0021 at $.9979. The December U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.35 at 110.81. The December 30-year T-bond is down 3/8nds, while December gold is down $11.50 at $1,654.10 and December crude oil is down $1.09 at $87.99. On China's Dalian exchange, January corn was down 0.2%, November soybeans were up 0.6%, January soybean meal was down 0.4% and January soybean oil was down 2.6%. January Malaysian palm oil is trading down 3.7%.
