DTN Early Word Grains 02/07 05:30 Crop Prices Quietly Mixed Ahead of Wednesday's USDA Report March corn is down 1 cent, March soybeans are up 7 cents and March KC wheat is down 2 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is down 1 cent, March soybeans are up 7 cents and March KC wheat is down 2 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Tuesday, stock futures in the U.S. were trading a little higher, similar to Europe. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell will speak later Tuesday with many looking for clues of future Fed policy. At 7:30 a.m. CST Tuesday, the U.S. Census Bureau will post the trade deficit for December, followed by a December 31 grain stocks report from Statistics Canada at 8 a.m. Earnings season continues in full swing and Tuesday's reports include DuPont and H&R Block. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 34.99 at 33,891.02 and the S&P 500 down 25.40 at 4,111.08. The 10-Year Treasury yield jumped up to 3.63%, up from the lowest yield in over four months. Early Tuesday, March Dow Jones futures are up 18 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 0.03% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.29%. European markets are slightly higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.40%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.03% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.10%. The March euro is down $0.0008 at $1.0740. The March U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.07 at 103.43. The March 30-year T-bond is up 3/32nds, while April gold is up $7.90 at $1,887.40 and March crude oil is up $1.32 at $75.43. On China's Dalian exchange, March corn was down 0.6%, March soybeans were down 0.7%, May soybean meal was down 1.0% and May soybean oil was up 0.6%. April Malaysian palm oil is trading up 1.9%.
