DTN Closing Grain Comments 02/16 13:44 Late Push Sends Corn, Soybeans and Soymeal Back to Near Unchanged In extremely quiet trade, corn and soybeans were on both sides before finishing near unchanged. For the third consecutive day, soybeans and soymeal fell early, pressured by technical sell signals and the expanding Brazilian harvest; but a late-day push sent both back toward Wednesday's close. Some outside pressure came from financial markets, with equities down on poor housing data and the better-than-expected rise in the Producer Price Index. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: March corn closed down 1/4 cent per bushel and May corn was up 1 cent. March soybeans closed up 3/4 cent and May soybeans were up 1 3/4 cents. March KC wheat closed up 4 cents, March Chicago wheat was down 4 1/4 cents and May Minneapolis wheat was up 5 cents.
