DTN Early Word Grains 02/16 05:40 Row Crops a Little Lower Early Thursday With Export Sales Ahead March corn is down 2 cents, March soybeans are down 3 cents and March KC wheat is up 2 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: March corn is down 2 cents, March soybeans are down 3 cents and March KC wheat is up 2 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Thursday, stock futures in the U.S. are roughly steady, while stocks in Europe are higher. According to CNBC.com, positive earnings results from Cisco Systems helped stocks trade higher Wednesday. Earnings season continues for a few hundred companies Thursday. USDA's weekly export sales report is out at 7:30 a.m. CST, the same time as weekly U.S. jobless claims, January housing starts, January producer prices and an update of the U.S. Drought Monitor. The U.S. Energy Department's weekly natural gas storage report will be out at 9:30 a.m. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 38.78 at 34,128.05 and the S&P 500 up 11.47 at 4,147.60. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.81%, the highest yield in over a month. Early Thursday, March Dow Jones futures are down 17 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.71% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.96%. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.38%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.40% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.94%. The March euro is up $0.0020 at $1.0718. The March U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.21 at 103.63. The March 30-year T-bond is up 6/32nds, while April gold is up $0.70 at $1,846.0 and March crude oil is down $0.26 at $78.33. On China's Dalian exchange, May corn was up slightly, May soybeans were down 0.6%, May soybean meal was down 0.9% and May soybean oil was up 0.1%. April Malaysian palm oil is trading up 3.0%.
