DTN Early Word Grains 02/24 05:41 Row Crop Prices a Little Higher Ahead of Export Sales Report May corn is up 1 cent, May soybeans are up 8 cents and May KC wheat is down 8 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: May corn is up 1 cent, May soybeans are up 8 cents and May KC wheat is down 8 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Friday, stock futures in the U.S. are starting lower with mixed markets in Europe. USDA's weekly export sales report is set for 7:30 a.m. CST, the same time the Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE) index for January and U.S. personal income and consumer spending data will also be out, followed by U.S. new home sales for January and the University of Michigan's consumer sentiment index for February at 9 a.m. USDA's monthly cattle on-feed and cold storage reports are due out at 2 p.m. Friday's earnings reports include Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corp. and Berkshire Hathaway. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 108.82 at 33,153.91 and the S&P 500 up 21.27 at 4,012.32. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.88%, down from the highest yield in over three months. Early Friday, March Dow Jones futures are down 134 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 1.29% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.62%. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.30%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.08% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.21%. The March euro is down $0.0011 at $1.0595. The March U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.13 at 104.67. The March 30-year T-bond is down 10/32nds, while April gold is up $2.00 at $1,828.80 and April crude oil is up $0.93 at $76.32. On China's Dalian exchange, May corn was down 0.1%, May soybeans were down 0.2%, May soybean meal was down 0.1% and May soybean oil was up 0.2%. May Malaysian palm oil is trading down 0.7%.
