DTN Early Word Grains 03/07 05:43 Crop Prices Quietly Mixed in Early March May corn is up 1/2 cent, May soybeans are down 1/2 cent and May KC wheat is up 4 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: May corn is up 1/2 cent, May soybeans are down 1/2 cent and May KC wheat is up 4 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Tuesday, stock futures in the U.S. are a little higher, in line with small gains in Europe. Overnight news from China showed exports were down 6.8% in the first two months of 2023, reported the Wall Street Journal. On Tuesday, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell addresses Congress and will likely repeat the need for further rate hikes to bring inflation down to the Fed's 2% target level. Trading in grains may turn quiet later Tuesday, ahead of Wednesday's WASDE report. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 40.47 at 33,431.44 and the S&P 500 Index up 2.78 at 4,048.42. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.98%. Early Tuesday, March Dow Jones futures are up 16 points. European markets are lightly higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.22%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.24% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.14%. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.25% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 1.11%.
