Exporters worked to cover short positions last week as nearby basis surged 20 cents and with the rebound in futures, brought flat price bids to the $8 mark. Hard red winter 11.5% protein bids also spiked 30 cents and dark northern spring was up 20 cents, but all cash bids settled back with declining futures. Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed a modest rebound in U.S. wheat shipments last week, coming in at 13.7 mb to put the year-to-date total at 598 mb and 1.6% behind a year ago. Soft white was top shipper for the week with 5.4 mb, followed by hard red spring at 4.1 mb and hard red winter with 2.7 mb.
