DTN Early Word Grains 03/28 05:41 Grain Markets Mixed After Strong Session Monday. May corn is down 2 cents, May soybeans are up 4 cents and May KC wheat is up 2 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: May corn is down 2 cents, May soybeans are up 4 cents and May KC wheat is up 2 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: World equity markets are mostly higher after a strong start to the week here in the U.S. The negative headlines regarding the banking crisis seemed to have peaked late last week, but the U.S. treasury, the Federal Reserve, the EU bank and large private banks have stepped in to provide liquidity and calm the markets that were teetering on contagion last week. Traders are likely to remain nervous that other banking issues may emerge, and that could keep the markets somewhat volatile until enough time passes for traders to feel more confident. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 194.55 at 32,432.08 and the S&P 500 Index up 6.54 at 3,977.53. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.53%. Early Tuesday, June Dow Jones futures are up 5 points. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.11%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.05% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.14%. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.15% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.02%.
