DTN Early Word Grains 04/05 05:45 Crop Prices Lower as Outside Markets Sour May corn is down 4 cents, May soybeans are down 5 cents and May KC wheat is down 16 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: May corn is down 4 cents, May soybeans are down 5 cents and May KC wheat is down 16 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Wednesday, U.S. stock futures are starting lower with most foreign markets also on the defensive. OPEC's plans to cut oil production starting in May puts pressure on efforts to restrain inflation and will add to interest rate pressures on the economy. The U.S. Commerce Department will post the trade deficit for February at 7:30 a.m. CDT and provide USDA with export data that will be released later Wednesday morning. The U.S. Energy Department's weekly inventory report will be out at 9:30 a.m. CDT, including ethanol production. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 198.77 at 33,402.38 and the S&P 500 Index down 23.91 at 4,100.60. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.34%. Early Wednesday, June Dow Jones futures are down 45 points. European markets are mostly lower with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.10%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.49% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 0.36%. Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 1.68%.
