DTN Early Word Grains 04/13 05:38 Corn and Soybeans Higher, Wheat Lower Ahead of Export Sales Report May corn is up 2 cents, May soybeans are up 10 cents, and May KC wheat is down 10 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: May corn is up 2 cents, May soybeans are up 10 cents, and May KC wheat is down 10 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Equity prices Wednesday initially rallied off the CPI numbers that were in line to a little better than expectations. However, the release of the Fed Minutes in the afternoon caused a broad sell-off in stocks as the Fed expressed a continued bias toward more rate hikes and higher rates for a longer period than most traders had assumed. Thursday morning, equity prices are mixed ahead of Thursday's major reports. Thursday we will get the PPI numbers and the weekly Export Sales report. Friday we will see retail sales which will give a clue about the health of the U.S. consumer. We will also begin to see corporate earnings on Friday which most equity analysts believe will confirm a slowing of the economy. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 38.29 at 33,646.50 and the S&P 500 Index down 16.99 at 4,091.95. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.42%. Early Thursday, June Dow Jones futures are down 13 points. European markets are mixed with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.04%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.08% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.94%. Asian markets are also mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.26% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.03%.
