DTN Early Word Grains 04/20 05:37 Risk-Off Selling Continues in Grains and Oilseeds Early Thursday July corn is down 5 cents, July soybeans are down 11 cents and July KC wheat is down 13 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: July corn is down 5 cents, July soybeans are down 11 cents and July KC wheat is down 13 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Thursday, U.S. stock futures and most commodities are starting lower with traders still expecting another rate hike in early May. Late Wednesday, the Federal Reserve's Beige Book said economic activity was little changed in the latest period and noted declining loan activity. USDA's weekly export sales report will be out at 7:30 a.m. CDT Thursday, the same time as weekly U.S. jobless claims and an update of the U.S. Drought Monitor. The U.S. Energy Department's weekly report of natural gas storage is set for 9:30 a.m., followed by U.S. existing home sales in March and an index of U.S. leading indicators at 10 a.m. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 79.62 at 33,897.01 and the S&P 500 Index down 0.35 at 4,154.52. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.60%. Early Thursday, June Dow Jones futures are down 159 points. European markets are lower with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 0.15%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.81% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 0.44%. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index up 0.18% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.09%.
