White wheat found some independent strength as exporters worked to cover 6 mb in CCC donations for Yemen, which will ship in June. Winter wheat conditions across the PNW continue to struggle as unseasonably cool and drier weather held intact through most of this week, but warmer and wetter weather is in the forecast for next week. Weekly Sales...USDA reported a modest rebound in export demand for U.S. wheat, coming in at 9.5 mb and nearly double the four-week average. Year- to-date commitments now stand at 681 mb, which is 4% behind a year ago and 19% below the five-year average pace. Hard red spring accounted for 4.6 mb of the total, putting sales at 208 mb which is 5% ahead of a year ago but 15% behind average. Hard red winter garnered 2.3 mb in new business to put sales 33% behind a year ago and 15% behind average at 185 mb. White wheat saw 1.4 mb in sales for the week and with 169 mb in commitments, sets 38% ahead of a year ago but 35% behind average.
