DTN Closing Grain Comments 05/08 13:53 New-Crop Corn, Soybeans Move Lower as Planting Picks Up December corn was down a nickel and November soybeans closed down 7 1/2 cents after an active week of planting, followed by some beneficial rains over the weekend. July contracts of KC and Minneapolis wheat ended modestly higher, supported by ongoing weather concerns for both ahead of Friday's winter wheat production estimates from NASS. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: July corn closed steady and December corn was down 5 cents. July soybeans closed down 2 3/4 cents and November soybeans were down 7 1/2 cents. July KC wheat closed up 11 1/4 cents, July Chicago wheat was down 6 1/4 cents and September Minneapolis wheat was up 7 1/2 cents.
