DTN Early Word Grains 05/08 05:49 Grain Market Higher on Short-Covering, Worries About Ukraine Grain Corridor July corn is up 3 cents per bushel, July soybeans are up 8 cents, July KC wheat is up 12 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: July corn is up 3 cents per bushel, July soybeans are up 8 cents, July KC wheat is up 12 cents, July Chicago wheat is up 4 cents and July Minneapolis wheat is up 13 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Monday, U.S. stock futures are higher, building on Friday's strong performance. This week's focus will be on the April CPI data to be released Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. CDT, and the PPI numbers that will be released at the same time Thursday. Additionally, developments regarding the U.S. debt ceiling will be market-moving as Treasury Secretary Yellen warns that "chaos" will ensue should congress not act to raise the ceiling. In grains, the USDA will release the May Supply and Demand report on Friday at 11 a.m. CDT. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous close Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 546.64 at 33,674.38 and the S&P 500 up 75.03 at 4,136.25, The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.45%. Early Monday, the June Dow Jones Futures are up 57 points. European markets are mostly higher with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 steady, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.05% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index up 0.32%. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index down 0.71% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 1.81%.
