DTN Closing Grain Comments 05/09 13:50 Row-Crop Prices Lower on Favorable Starts, While Drought Pushes KC Wheat Higher December corn closed down 11 3/4 cents and November soybeans were down 18 cents after USDA showed good planting starts for new crops in all but the northernmost states Monday. July KC wheat started the day lower, influenced by corn, but finished up 12 cents with a growing realization of just how bad conditions are for this year's HRW wheat crop. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: July corn closed down 11 3/4 cents and December corn was down 11 1/2 cents. July soybeans closed down 19 1/2 cents and November soybeans were down 18 cents. July KC wheat closed up 12 cents, July Chicago wheat was down 10 1/2 cents and September Minneapolis wheat was up 3 1/4 cents.
