DTN Early Word Grains 05/09 06:36 Grain Markets Lower on Planting Progress, Mostly Favorable Weather. July corn is lower, July soybean futures are lower and July KC wheat is lower. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: July corn is down 4 1/2 cents per bushel, July soybeans are down 2 3/4 cents, July KC wheat is down 2 1/4 cents, July Chicago wheat is down 7 3/4 cents and July Minneapolis wheat is up 2 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early on Tuesday, U.S. stock are lower, after giving up their gains yesterday and closing mixed to mostly lower. The market seems to be biding time ahead of the release of the CPI and PPI numbers, which have caused market setbacks on previous releases. With the interest rate futures market pricing in economic weakness significant enough to result in interest rate decreases from the Fed later this year, a CPI number showing inflation being "sticky" would send equity prices careening lower. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous close Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 55.69 at 33,618.69 and the S&P 500 up 1.87 at 4,138.12, The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.52%. Early Tuesday, the June Dow Jones Futures are down 127 points. European markets are lower with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading down 0.52%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading down 0.31% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index down 0.66%. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index up 1.01% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 1.1%.
