White wheat bids were also marginally better but have held to a more narrow range and have held at or above the $7.15 mark. Crop Progress...A string of thundershowers across the Pacific Northwest over the past week gave the winter wheat crop another boost, as the three state weighted index climbed another 2 points to 92% of average. Idaho saw a 10 point improvement in good to excellent which is now at 45%, Oregon was up 2 points to 36% and Washington reported an 8% improvment to 66%. Spring wheat plantings are now ahead of average in Washington at 89% complete and Idaho is about 20% behind at 63% sown. Emergence is good for both states. Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed a more subdued late season pace of wheat movement off U.S. ports last week, coming in just above the 7 mb mark. Year-to-date shipments stand at 678 mb, and mirror the pace of U.S. wheat export sales, trailing last year by 3%. Hard red winter was the top shipper last week with 4.3 mb. -Norm Ruhoff Contributing Analyst Copyright 2023 DTN/Telvent. All Rights Reserved.
