DTN Closing Grain Comments 05/23 13:42 Soybeans Give Up Part of Monday Gains; Corn and Wheat Firm Up On a quiet day, the soy complex gave back some of the gains made Monday, while new-crop December corn led that market higher and all three wheat markets recovered some of last week's losses. Corn and soy planting were revealed to be faster than average, with spring wheat lagging the average pace. Dana Mantini Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: July corn closed up 6 1/2 cents per bushel at 5.78 and December corn was up 7 3/4 cents at 5.17. July soybeans closed down 18 3/4 cents at 13.23 and November soybeans were down 9 1/4 cents at 11.88. July KC wheat closed up 15 3/4 cents at 8.42, July Chicago wheat was up 16 cents at 6.22 and July Minneapolis wheat was up 11 cents at 8.21.
