DTN Closing Grain Comments 06/15 13:44 Grain, Soybean Markets Soar on Weather Concerns, Production Cuts, Outside Markets New-crop corn and soy futures set the stage for a bullish Thursday as dry weather concerns for the heart of the corn and soy belt and production cuts to both Argentine soybean and wheat extended this very early weather market. Soybean oil continued to soar on expectations for lower palm oil production and Argentine soy oil exports. It was a risk-on day as equities and energy markets also rose sharply. Dana Mantini DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: July corn closed up 15 1/2 cents per bushel at $6.23 and December corn was up 25 1/4 cents at $5.75. July soybeans closed up 40 cents at $14.28 and November soybeans were up 52 1/4 cents at $12.92. July KC wheat closed up 27 cents at $8.13, July Chicago wheat was up 31 1/4 cents at $6.62 and July Minneapolis wheat was up 24 1/4 cents at $8.34.
