DTN Early Word Grains 06/21 05:39 Grain Prices Higher Wednesday Morning on Weather, Deteriorating Crop Condition Ratings December corn is up 17 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 14 1/2 cents, September KC wheat is up 18 1/4 cents, July Chicago wheat is up 16 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is up 13 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn is up 17 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 14 1/2 cents, September KC wheat is up 18 1/4 cents, July Chicago wheat is up 16 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is up 13 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Equity markets are close to steady in the U.S. after a mixed session Tuesday. Tuesday's housing starts were significantly better than trade estimates, a positive data point that suggests the American consumer still has confidence and equity to spend. All eyes Wednesday morning will be on Fed Chairman Powell who will be testifying at the U.S. House of Representatives. Markets will react to his comments after the Federal Reserve's most recent "hawkish pause". OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 245.25 at 34,053.87 and the S&P 500 down 20.88 at 4,388.71, The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.73%. Early Wednesday, the September Dow Jones Futures are up 3 points. European markets are higher with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading up 0.11%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading up 0.14% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index up 0.05%. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index up 0.56% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 1.31%. The September Euro is unchanged at 1.097 and the September U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.080 at 102.205. The September 30-Year T-Bond is down 3/32nds, while August gold is down $3.50 at $1,944.20 and August crude oil is down $0.01 at $71.18. On China's Dalian Exchange, September corn was steady, while September soybeans were up 1.32%, September soybean meal was up 0.69% and September Malaysian Palm Oil was trading down 2.98%.
