DTN Early Word Grains 06/26 05:50 Grain Markets Higher as Traders Assess Weather and the Aftermath of This Weekend's Russian Coup Attempt December corn is up 1/2 cent per bushel, November soybeans are up 10 1/2 cents, September KC wheat is up 18 1/4 cents, September Chicago wheat is up 21 1/2 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is up 13 3/4 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn is up 1/2 cent per bushel, November soybeans are up 10 1/2 cents, September KC wheat is up 18 1/4 cents, September Chicago wheat is up 21 1/2 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is up 13 3/4 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Equity markets have turned lower after a higher open on Sunday night. The huge story from the weekend was the insurrection of the Wagner Group, Russian mercenaries who turned on Russia this weekend, capturing an area in Russia that is important to their wheat export program and then threatening to march on Moscow before a "truce" of sorts was agreed to on Sunday. The bottom line on the situation is a huge increase in uncertainty that has equity traders nervous Monday morning. The data that will be released this week includes durable goods, the Case Shiller home price index, and consumer confidence on Tuesday, wholesale and retail inventories on Wednesday, and the PCE price indices on Friday. Fed Chairman Powell will also be speaking on Wednesday and Thursday. Finally, in grains we will see the USDA stocks and acreage reports on Friday at 11 a.m. CDT. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 219.28 at 33,727.43 and the S&P 500 down 33.56 at 4,348.33, The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.74%. Early Monday, the September Dow Jones Futures are down 26 points. European markets are lower with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading down 0.31%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading down 0.18% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index up 0.02%. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index down 0.25% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 1.48%.
