DTN Closing Livestock Comment 07/17 15:38 Mixed Tones Keep With Livestock Complex Through Closing The livestock closed mixed with cattle being able to rally on strong fundamental support and tight supplies, but traders want to see better pork interest from consumers before they support the contracts much more. ShayLe Stewart DTN Livestock Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: The livestock complex closed mixed with the cattle contracts able to close mostly higher by Monday's end, but the lean hog complex faced some pressure. This week could be subject to some cattle pressure as Friday will release two big USDA reports -- the Cattle on Feed and the Cattle Inventory reports. Hog prices closed $2.09 higher on the Daily Direct Afternoon Hog Report, with a weighted average price of $102.00 on 2,162 head. December corn is down 7 3/4 cents per bushel and December soybean meal is up $8.40. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 126.81 points.
