DTN Early Word Grains 07/17 05:46 Grain Prices Higher on Weather Concerns, Technical Factors, and Shutdown of the Ukrainian Grain Corridor December corn is up 6 3/4 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 15 1/4 cents, September KC wheat is up 11 1/2 cents, September Chicago wheat is up 18 3/4 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is up 8 cents. Kent Beadle, DTN Contributing Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: December corn is up 6 3/4 cents per bushel, November soybeans are up 15 1/4 cents, September KC wheat is up 11 1/2 cents, September Chicago wheat is up 18 3/4 cents and September Minneapolis wheat is up 8 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Equity markets are slightly lower Monday morning, coming off another very strong week last week. Chinese economic data remains below trade expectations with the latest GDP estimate up only 0.8% for the 2nd quarter. Growth in the past 12 months is 6.7% which sounds good but with China having been locked down a year ago, the growth is actually quite disappointing. Market data this week will include Retail Sales on Tuesday, Housing Starts on Wednesday, and U.S. Leading Economic Indicators on Thursday. In grain markets, we will get the normal weekly reports with grain inspections Monday, weekly ethanol grind on Wednesday, export sales on Thursday, and CFTC commitments of traders' report on Friday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Friday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 113.89 at 34,509.03 and the S&P 500 down 4.62 at 4,505.42, The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.82%. Early Monday, the September Dow Jones Futures are down 77 points. European markets are lower with the spot futures of London's FTSE 100 trading down 0.43%, spot futures of Germany's DAX is trading down 0.55% and the spot futures of France's CAC 40 Index down 1.22%. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 Index down 0.09% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.87%.
